Auto-Generated Legal Pages

Last updated: 2026-03-27
Every Axerto landing page automatically gets its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The legal pages are generated by AI the first time a visitor requests them — reflecting the actual form fields, tracking tools (Google Ads, GA4, Meta Pixel), and business context of that specific landing page. No templates, no copy-paste, no generic boilerplate. Links to both pages are injected into the landing page footer automatically. This keeps your pages compliant with Google Ads advertising policies out of the box.

How to use it

  1. Legal pages are created automatically

You do not need to do anything. When a visitor first accesses /s/your-slug/privacy/ or /s/your-slug/terms/, Axerto generates the legal page on demand using AI, caches it, and serves it. The landing page footer automatically includes the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service links.

  2. Access your legal pages

Visit /s/your-slug/privacy/ for the Privacy Policy and /s/your-slug/terms/ for the Terms of Service. On a custom domain, these are served at your-domain.com/privacy/ and your-domain.com/terms/. You can preview both from the landing page Settings tab.

  3. Review the generated content

Open each legal page in your browser and verify it reflects your business name, form fields, and tracking tools. The AI uses the landing page HTML and your client record to extract context — form field names, tracking tags, and business details from the generation brief.

  4. Regenerate if needed

If you updated the landing page significantly (e.g. added new form fields or tracking tags), go to Settings > Legal Pages and click 'Regenerate'. This clears the cached version and rebuilds it on the next visit.

  5. Use your own legal pages instead (optional)

In the landing page Settings tab under 'Legal Pages', enter a URL for an external Privacy Policy and an external Terms of Service. Axerto will link to those URLs in the footer instead of the auto-generated pages. Useful if your organization has centralized legal documents.

Frequently asked questions

Are legal pages generated once and cached?
Yes. The page is generated on the first visitor request and cached in the database. Subsequent visits serve the cached version instantly. Use the 'Regenerate' button in Settings to refresh after making significant changes to the landing page.
Do the legal pages mention Google Ads, Meta Pixel, and GA4?
Yes. The generation prompt inspects the landing page HTML for tracking scripts and form fields. If Google Ads, GA4, GTM, or Meta Pixel tags are present, the privacy policy mentions them specifically — explaining what data is collected and how it is used by those platforms.
Are the legal pages compliant with Google Ads policies?
Google Ads requires that landing pages have a visible, accessible privacy policy. Axerto auto-generates this and links it in the footer — satisfying the policy requirement out of the box. For full GDPR compliance in the EU, review the generated content with a legal professional, as requirements vary by jurisdiction and use case.
Can I edit the generated legal pages?
The auto-generated pages are not editable via the visual editor — they are plain HTML served from the database. If you need a custom legal document, use the 'External URL' option in Settings to point to your own hosted legal pages instead.
Do legal pages work on custom domains?
Yes. On a custom domain, the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are served at your-domain.com/privacy/ and your-domain.com/terms/ respectively.
Are legal pages included in the sitemap?
No. Legal pages are excluded from sitemaps and set to noindex so they do not compete with your main landing page in search results.
