Lead Scoring

Last updated: 2026-03-27
Axerto automatically scores every new lead as Hot, Warm, or Cold using configurable rule-based scoring. Rules can award points for the presence of specific fields (email, phone), country match, UTM source, or any custom form field value. The score is calculated immediately after geo resolution and is visible in the leads list and lead detail view.

How to use it

  1. View lead scores

Open the Leads tab on any landing page or the global Leads dashboard. Each lead shows a Hot / Warm / Cold badge based on its calculated score.

  2. Configure scoring rules

Go to Leads > Scoring Rules. Create rules by specifying: field name (e.g. 'email', 'phone', 'utm_source'), condition (present / equals / contains), value (for equals/contains rules), and point weight. Rules with higher weights have more impact on the final classification.

  3. Set classification thresholds

Define the point totals that map to Hot, Warm, and Cold. Example: 60+ = Hot, 30–59 = Warm, below 30 = Cold. Adjust to match your lead quality expectations.

  4. Use scores to prioritize follow-up

Sort your leads list by score to focus on the highest-value prospects. Hot leads are typically those with both email and phone, from a high-intent UTM source.

Frequently asked questions

When is a lead scored?
Immediately after creation — scoring runs automatically right after IP geolocation, before webhooks fire. The score is available within seconds of form submission.
Can I rescore existing leads?
Scoring rules apply to newly created leads. Retroactive rescoring of historical leads is not currently automatic — contact support if you need a bulk rescore after changing rules.
Does lead scoring work for popup form submissions?
Yes. Popup leads go through the same processing pipeline as landing page leads, including lead scoring.
